Why is the royal family silent on Prince Archie’s birthday?

Prince Archie is celebrating his fifth birthday today on 6th May 2024.

Meanwhile, there is curiosity among fans as to why there was no public statement from the royal family on the occasion as Buckingham Palace has not issued any statement yet.

Meghan and Harry’s eldest child turns five today and although fans of the couple have taken to social media to show their support, the royal family has yet to do so publicly.

Instead of posting about Archie’s birthday, the official Royal Family Twitter account posted about the one-year anniversary of the coronation, writing: “Today marks the first anniversary of the King and Queen’s coronation at Westminster Abbey.

It is unclear whether the royal family sent any personal message to the couple.

However, a royal expert shared a simple explanation as to why the royals have ignored not only Archie, but also Lilibet and other members of the firm such as the York Princess.

“In recent years, and certainly since the reign of King Charles III begins in September 2022, we have only seen social media accounts for working members of the royal family, such as the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children, Have seen the public messages. The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and the Princess Royal,” said Danielle Stacey, online royal correspondent for Hello!

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back as senior royals in 2020, and will no longer perform royal duties.

“Similarly, the palace does not normally share messages on Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie and Zara Tindall’s birthdays or their children’s special days.”

A source told Us Weekly last year: “There is and never has been a protocol for wishing happy birthday to non-working members of the royal family.”
