‘I’m Jewish and crossing the road’: Campaigners criticize ‘outrageous’ response to anti-Semitism controversy

A campaigner at the center of a row over anti-Semitism in the Metropolitan Police has criticized “outrageous” comments by a former senior police officer who said he would consider arresting him for assault.

Gideon Falter, chief executive of the Campaign Against Antisemitism, gave an interview to Sky News about Kay Burley at breakfast after footage emerged of a police officer restraining him Crossing the road near the pro-Palestinian march in London. Because he is an “open Jew”.

“I’m Jewish. I was crossing the street.”
