Ava Phillippe provided a sobering reminder about the serious consequences of body shaming on social media.
Earlier this week, the daughter of Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe shared a selfie of herself with her dog Benji while looking away from the camera on her Instagram Stories.
“Bodyshaming is toxic behavior,” she wrote above the photo. “(Asked Benjy and he agrees).”
“So maybe just… don’t do it??” the 24-year-old influencer added.
Philip previously shared a video on TikTok detailing the online bodyshaming incident, writing that she had achieved a major milestone in a woman’s life.
“I saw two different strangers commenting on my body,” she wrote on the clip of herself admiring herself in front of a mirror.
“The first one said I should move on [Ozempic] Because I’m too fat…” she explained, as she started applying lipstick in the mirror. “Others accused me of starving myself because I’m too thin…”
“My weight did not change in the time period between his comments,” she said, adding, “If it had it would have had nothing to do with him!”
Ava walked away from the frame while the video continued on the background tune i’m just a girl By No Doubt.
“No one deserves to be torn apart based on their looks. You don’t always know what someone has been through or what they’re struggling with,” the clip ends.
