Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in a one-sided IPL 2024 match on Thursday. However, before the game, the game’s toss caught the attention of fans on social media. Fans on social media accused match umpire and former India pacer Javagar Srinath of changing the outcome of the toss in favor of Mumbai Indians. Multiple users on social media platform X claimed that Srinath had tampered with the coin by flipping its sides while picking it up.

However, the user received a reality check from another user who shared a clearer perspective on the throw. The video does show that rather than flipping both sides of the coin, Srinath forgot the call from RCB captain Faf du Plessis.

“Clear video of the throw…if you still have doubts, either go to an eye hospital or a mental hospital,” the video caption reads.

MI won the match by 7 wickets after chasing a target of 197 in the 16th over.

Looking back at the match, Jasprit Bumrah spoiled RCB’s innings by taking five wickets, followed by Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yada Suryakumar Yadav scored two sharp 50s to seal MI’s second win of the season.

Bumrah’s figures of 5/21 earned him the Man of the Match award.

Earlier, RCB posted 196-8 after MI captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and decided to open the over.

After the match, Bumrah said the T20 format is “very harsh on the bowlers”.

“I try not to be a one-trick pony and I worked on that early in my career. People start rehearsing you. I want to have different skill sets. I would never say I want to be a five-trick pony. .The wicket was sticky and I was very happy with my contribution,” he said.
