Pant has already been fined twice for speeding this season and a third offense will result in a one-match ban. The 26-year-old dodged a huge bullet during the match against Lucknow Supergiants on Friday. DC trailed in excess rate until Round 16, but made up for the lost excess.

If a third offense is committed in the same season, the fine will be up to Rs 30 lakh and the captain will also be banned for one match.

Pant, meanwhile, had a stellar performance in DC’s win over LSG in Lucknow.

He scored 41 quick points to help DC chase 168 points for their second win of the season.

Apart from Pant, Jack Fraser-McGurk also performed well on his debut, knocking 55 off 35 balls.

During the tournament, Pant crossed the 3,000-run mark in IPL and became the first DC player to cross the 3,000-run mark.

DC are ranked ninth in the 10-team competition, while RCB are now at the bottom. Pant and company will now face Gujarat Titans away from home.
