Haryana man killed, two injured after refusing to drink outside shop: Police

Faridabad:

A 40-year-old man was killed and his brother and a friend were injured after he objected to an attack by three men drinking outside a store, police said on Saturday.

The incident took place late on Friday night when three men arrived at the shop of one of the victims, Neeraj, in Jawahar Colony in an inebriated state, police said.

“Around 11.30 pm, Gaurav and his two friends reached the shop in a drunken car. They bought some snacks from my shop and started drinking in front of my shop. When I refused to let them drink there , they started drinking. “Gaurav, who was armed with sticks and iron rods, started abusing me and called other friends,” Neeraj said in the complaint.

“They attacked me, my brother Satyaprakash and a friend. My brother suffered severe head injuries. When we rushed him to hospital, doctors declared him dead on arrival,” he said.

“As a crowd gathered, the accused fled the scene,” he added.

Kuldeep Singh, deputy commissioner of police, NIT Faridabad, said that based on Neeraj’s complaint, Gaurav and his friends Kalu, Kamal and An FIR was registered against Cheeku.

“Gaurav has been arrested and the remaining personnel are being raided,” the DCP said.
