There is no place for star all-rounder Hardik Pandya in former India spinner Harbhajan Singh’s team for the upcoming T20 World Cup to be held in America. Before the team selection deadline, Harbhajan chose his 15 players he felt should be part of the squad for the World Cup. Apart from Hardik, Harbhajan also left out Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer. However, he did not hesitate in picking the latest IPL sensation Mayank Yadav, despite the fast bowler being out of the team at the moment due to workload management issues.
Mayank, who is adept at regularly crossing the 150 kmph mark, has played only two games so far, in which he has taken six wickets. Harbhajan is not the first former player to confirm his selection.
In the batting department, Harbhajan chose players like Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal to open, while Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav remained at number three. 3 and 4 respectively.
Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson are the two wicketkeepers that Harbhajan has decided to select along with Rinku Singh and Shivam Dubey as finishers.
As far as the bowling department is concerned, they included seven players including all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.
Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal were Harbhajan’s frontline spinners, while apart from Mayank, Jasprit Bumrah, Avesh Khan, Arshdeep Singh are other fast bowlers.

According to reports, the BCCI selectors will meet head coach Rahul Dravid and captain Rohit Sharma to discuss the World Cup squad later this week.
The last date for team submission is May 1st. The tournament will begin on June 2 in the US and India’s first match will be against Ireland on June 5.
