Captain Faf du Plessis scored 64 runs in 23 balls to lead Royal Challengers Bangalore to a four-wicket win over Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League match in Bengaluru on Saturday. Chasing a target of 148, du Plessis and Virat Kohli (42 off 27) laid the foundation for a big win by putting on a 92-run partnership in just 35 balls. Which came in 13.4 overs. Josh Little (4/45) took four wickets for GT but the effort was not enough. Earlier, RCB bowled with discipline and bowled out Gujarat Titans for a modest score of 147 runs.

Opting to bowl, RCB bowlers picked up wickets at regular intervals before M Shahrukh Khan (37) and David Miller (30) stitched a 61-run stand for the fourth wicket to steady GT’s innings.

But once both left, the GT innings never got the expected boost.

In the end, Rahul Tewatia (35 off 21) tried his best to push forward, but did not get support from the other end.

Yash Dayal (2/21), Vijaykumar Vishak (2/23) and Mohammed Siraj (2/29) took two wickets each for RCB.

This win means that RCB have jumped three places to be at the bottom of the points table. RCB has now moved up from 10th position to 7th position. This change means that Punjab Kings, Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians have slipped one place each to 8th, 9th and 10th respectively. The rest of the points table remained unchanged.
