Gyanvapi Masjid case: ASI survey report to be made public; Both parties will receive hard copies

The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) report on the Gyanvapi Mosque will be made public and access to it will be provided to both Hindu and Muslim parties.

Speaking to CNN-News18, lawyer Hari Shankar Jain, appearing for the Hindu side, said, “We are very fortunate to get the copy of the ASI survey,” adding that both sides will get the copy of the report by today or Thursday.

“Everyone should know what is in the ASI survey,” Jain said.

Jain said that as per the instructions of the court, hard copies of the report will be given to both the parties.

Advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain, representing the Hindu side, said, “Today, the court heard both the parties and a consensus was reached that the hard copy of the ASI report will be provided to both the parties… The ASI will provide the report through email. Objected.” Therefore, both parties agreed to receive the hard copy of the report.

An ASI official said that the report will probably be given tomorrow (Thursday). “The application cannot be filed after 12 noon,” the official said.

“There is no restrictive order that the copy cannot be shared with the public,” Jain said.

Jain said he was confident that the report would confirm that it was a temple and a temple should be built there.

Sita Sahu – a petitioner in the Gyanvapi case – speaking to CNN-News18 said that “the truth will come out”.

Meanwhile, SM Yasin, joint secretary of Anjuman Anjamia Masjid Committee, said that ‘the court order is supreme.’
