The IPL 2024 encounter between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders will go down in history as one of the most exciting contests. Chasing a mammoth score of 223, RCB missed out by just one run and lost the game on the last ball of the match. Apart from this tough challenge, the match caught everyone’s attention when RCB star Virat Kohli got involved in a heated argument with the umpire after being dismissed by Harshit Rana.
However, Kohli’s argument was not the only piece of disagreement that occurred during the match, as KKR mentor Gautam Gambhir was also involved in a heated discussion with the fourth umpire.
During the 19th over, when RCB needed 31 runs from 12 balls to win, KKR captain Shreyas Iyer was caught on camera saying something to his team in the dugout. After some time, Gambhir and KKR head coach Chandrakant Pandit were seen arguing with the fourth umpire over some unknown issue.

Later, it was revealed that KKR wanted Rahmanullah Gurbaz to replace spinner Sunil Narine as the substitute fielder for the final two overs as Narine was suffering from pain in his toe. However, the umpire rejected KKR’s plea, resulting in a serious argument.
Talking about Narine’s injury, the famous all-rounder was hit on his toe by RCB fast bowler Yash Dayal in the second over of KKR’s innings.
“It takes a lot out of your body and completely knocks you out because you go through a lot of emotions. It’s hard to stay calm but I’m excited. We got two points on the board and that’s all that matters. It’s It is extremely difficult when there is pressure, I think every individual should raise their hand and take responsibility,” Iyer said after securing a close win.
“Russell completely changed the game in our favor by taking two wickets, this kind of attitude is needed in the team. It is a fun game, when you need 18 runs from 6 balls, there is pressure on the bowler “One here and six there, it completely changes the momentum, it is important that we keep our calm and stay in the present and hit the batsman where you want to hit them,” he said.
KKR will now take on Punjab Kings in their next IPL 2024 match on Friday. On the other hand, RCB will face Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday.
