Looking to turn their season around, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) take on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens on Sunday. RCB captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and decided to bowl in the IPL 2024 match against Kolkata. However, at the time of the toss, an interesting incident once again brought Faf into focus. The RCB captain was seen smiling after the cameraman zoomed in to show the side of the coin. This comes after a major toss controversy after the match between RCB and Mumbai Indians.

Controversy erupted after MI captain Hardik Pandya tossed the coin over everyone’s heads and match referee Javagal Srinath had to take it back, leading to speculations of tampering in the toss.

Faf then added fuel to the fire when he was seen explaining the incident to SRH captain Pat Cummins during the toss earlier this week.

Since the controversy, broadcasters have been zooming in on the coin to address tampering claims. Faf had a cheeky smile on his face after the process was repeated to ensure clarity regarding the toss.

Meanwhile, RCB made three changes to the team that lost to SRH last time. Fast bowler Mohammed Siraj, all-rounder Cameron Green and leg spinner Karn Sharma were recalled for the match against KKR, with no changes made.

Speaking at the toss, RCB captain Faf said, “We will chase the target. This is probably a chasing ground, always has been. I am a fan of batting first when it is really hot. “Should have done it, but yesterday the temperature dropped after an hour or so.” Unlike Mumbai or Chennai, where it is very hot. The batting is so strong that a normal score or 60-70 is not considered good. “We have three changes – Green and Siraj are back, we know what to do with some things, the pace can be back and we have the firepower.”

KKR captain Shreyas Iyer said, “In the last afternoon’s game, we know how the wicket plays, we would have liked to bowl as well. It is very hot and we will try to tire them as much as possible.
