Fire breaks out at factory in Alipur, Delhi

New Delhi:

A major fire broke out at a factory in Delhi’s Alipur on Monday morning, officials said.

According to the Delhi Fire Department, a total of 34 fire engines rushed to the scene to extinguish the jumping flames.

“A fire broke out at a factory in Alipur. There are 34 fire engines at the scene,” the fire department informed.

Efforts to control the fire are ongoing, officials said, adding that no casualties were reported in the incident.

Earlier, a fire broke out at a factory in Bolgar Industrial Area, Narela, Delhi on Sunday afternoon.

Delhi Fire Service deputy chief fire officer SK Dua earlier told ANI: “We received information about the fire at noon and rushed fire engines to the spot. After the fire is extinguished, we will conduct a thorough investigation.”

Pawan Kumar, president of Narela DSIIDC Industrial Area Welfare Association, said no one was inside the factory when the fire broke out.

“The fire broke out in the shoe factory at noon. Since the factory is usually closed that day, no one was in the unit when the fire broke out. There was only one guard present at the scene. It was safe. We suspect that the fire was caused by a short circuit.” He said.
