Imports to decline by 4.85 percent to $58.25 billion in December 2023

The country’s exports rose 1 percent to $38.45 billion in December 2023, according to the latest official data released on Monday. However, imports declined by 4.85 percent to $58.25 billion in December 2023.

During April-December in the current financial year, exports declined by 5.7 percent to $317.12 billion. Imports declined by 7.93 percent to $505.15 billion. Commerce Secretary Sunil Barthwal said that despite the global recession, we are in positive territory.
