Congress destroyed PSUs like BNSL, MTNL, HAL and Air India; now they are thriving: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said the Congress party destroyed public sector enterprises such as BNSL, MTNL, HAL and Air India during its tenure and the current government has made efforts to reverse the situation.

“I was born in independent India and my dream was also independent…Congress said we sold power units and destroyed them. I want to ask them who destroyed BSNL and MTNL? Recall the situation of HAl under Congress . They destroyed Air India and Air India. The Congress and the UPA cannot escape defeat,” Modi said in a speech in the Union House.

He also said that BSNL, which Congress destroyed, is now moving towards Make in India 4G and 5G. HAL has generated record revenue and has become Asia’s largest helicopter manufacturing plant. “We’ve turned the story around. LIC’s share price is breaking records today…”

Modi said that in 2014, there were 234 public institutions in the country. Today, that number has increased to 254.

The Prime Minister said that the prowess of Indian youth in the field of sports will be recognized around the world in the next five years. During this period, public transportation in India will undergo a transformation. The country is set to see the expansion of bullet trains and Vande Bharat.

“In the next 5 years, Make in India will resonate in the semiconductor world and we will become a leader in electronics… I launched a campaign through the United Nations to support Xiaomi. I can’t see the day when, in the next five years, our village Super millets produced by small farmers will be available in the world market. Drones will become the new power of farmers. I am sure animal husbandry and fish farming will increase and we will create records,” Modi said.
