Gourav Vallabh had earlier also pointed out the Congress’s anti-corporate rhetoric

New Delhi:

Gourav Vallabh has doubled down on his accusations against the Congress, accusing the party of being against wealth creators, days after quitting and joining the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Gourav Vallabh said the party forced him to speak against several wealth creators, including billionaire Gautam Adani.

“I was the one who spoke against Mr Adani at the press conference. But after the SEBI investigation found that the Adani group had been completely deceived, I told the party’s senior leaders to drop the matter. But they did not stop, ” in his exclusive conversation with NDTV.

“All important departments of the party are managed by political assistants,” he said.

Vallabh had also earlier criticized the grand old party for its anti-corporate rhetoric.

Vallabh alleged that the Congress party had also “misused” the group that acquired Air India during disinvestment and said none of the government’s initiatives would be too bad.

“For me, wealth creators must be respected, they create jobs for the country. Misusing them will not help GDP growth or solve any problem. You cannot misuse our unicorns, I cannot do that. The Congress government implemented Liberalization, privatization and globalization, now the party is commenting on them,” Mr Vallabh said earlier after joining the BJP.

Gourav Vallabh joined the BJP last week after quitting the Congress over dissatisfaction with the party’s current trajectory. In a two-page resignation letter, Vallabh said he was unhappy with the party’s directionless approach.

When asked what his role in the BJP would be, given that he had changed his stance weeks before the Lok Sabha polls, Vallabh said he did not know. “I don’t calculate everything. I do what my heart tells me.”
