The BSF has seized an AK-47 rifle, two magazines and 40 cartridges from a field near the India-Pakistan border in Punjab’s Firozpur district, a force spokesperson said on Saturday.

The seizure was made during a search operation by the Border Security Force on Friday after a drone activity was spotted during the intervening night of January 18 and 19.

This resulted in the recovery of a packet wrapped in a white gunny bag containing Rs 40,000 in cash besides arms and ammunition, the spokesperson said.

The official said that the alert BSF troops successfully foiled the nefarious designs of those spreading terror from across the border.
