Shantanu Maheshwari talks openly about his dancing career

Shantanu Maheshwari has been in the entertainment industry for quite some time now and has made a name for himself through his extraordinary talent. He has been a part of many TV shows and played an important role in the film Gangubai Kathiawadi with Alia Bhatt. Shantanu is not only a talented actor but also a skilled dancer and his energy on stage is impressive. In a latest interview, the actor opened up about his decision to pursue a career in dancing and whether he has ever faced trolling for it.

While talking to Bollywood Bubble, when Shantanu was asked about negative criticism, he said, “I never had to face it. Thankfully, I never had to face that. I think I come from Kolkata, so Kolkata is by default very rich in literature and art. Therefore, there is never a thought in them that ‘the girl is dancing like this’. They appreciate art and culture very much and so do my parents. He never thought like this. In fact, my father wanted for a long time and still wants me to do classical dance. I am not a trained dancer. I am self-trained, self-taught.”

Also, throwing light on how he has faced trolls as an actor, he said that he has not faced much of it yet. Shantanu said that his well-wishers and fans have been very kind to him. He added, “I think they’re intelligent and smart people who understand what I’m going through because they understand me as a human being more than anything.”

Shantanu Maheshwari was last seen in the Amazon mini TV series Campus Beats. Directed by Palki Malhotra, the dance drama also featured actors like Shruti Sinha, Sahaj Singh Chahal, Tanvi Gadkari, Harsh Dingwani, Tanya Bhushan, Dhanashree Yadav, Teriya Magar, Adnan Khan and Rohan Pal in lead roles.

Shantanu Maheshwari started his acting career with Palki Malhotra’s popular TV show Dil Dosti Dance. She participated in Khatron Ke Khiladi, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and other reality shows. He has also been a part of several music videos, the latest of which is ‘Akhir’. Apart from Campus Beats, Shantanu was seen in other web series like Medically Yours and Tooth Pari: When Love Bites. In the coming time, he will be seen in the film ‘Auron Mein Dum Kaha Tha’.
