Police have released images of a man wanted for stabbing a woman to death in Bradford city centre.

Habibur Masum, 25 years old, from oldham area and has links to Burnley and chester. He is described as an Asian man with a slim build.

Police were called to Westgate, Bradford, at 3.21pm on Saturday. A woman was reportedly stabbed by a man Then fled the scene.

She was taken to hospital where she later died from her injuries.

The victim has not been formally identified but is understood to be 27 years old.

CCTV captured Masum wearing a duffle coat with three horizontal lines of grey, white and black, light blue or gray sweatpants with a small black badge on the left pocket, and maroon sneakers. .

A witness also reported seeing him wearing a gray hoodie with the hood pulled up.

Sky News spoke to a witness who ran over to try to help the woman.

“She was on the ground. I tried…there was me, there was another person, we tried. But it looked like she was gone,” the owner said.

He said he saw the victim and her children the morning she died.

Police encourage the public not to approach Masum.

“A knife was found at the murder scene but we are unable to confirm whether Habibol Masoum was armed,” said Detective Chief Inspector Stacey Atkinson, of West Yorkshire Police’s homicide and investigations team.

“If anyone knows his whereabouts or whereabouts since 3.20pm on Saturday, please contact police urgently.”
