In view of rising temperatures, the Andhra Pradesh School Education Department on Tuesday made it mandatory for all schools in the state to provide three water breaks for students.

The event called ‘Water Bell Initiative’ will be held at 9:45 am, 10:05 am and 11:50 am, Principal of School Education Praveen Prakash said in a release.

According to the school’s education department, the Water Bell Initiative aims to promote hydration and health among students.

Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) noted that 68 mandals across the state experienced heat wave on Tuesday, with severe heat wave reported in nine mandals.

However, only two mandals are expected to experience heat wave conditions on Wednesday.
