Nalin Prabhat appointed director of National Security Guards

Nalin Prabhat, a 1992-batch IPS officer from Andhra Pradesh, has been appointed as Director General, National Security Guard (NSG).

“Nalin Prabhat, currently serving as Additional Director General, CRPF, has been appointed as Director General, National Security Guards (NSG), Pay Matrix Level 16, with effect from the date of joining the post till August 31 , 2028, i.e. the date of his pension or until further orders, whichever is earlier,” the official order read.

The central government has also appointed Sapna Tewari, a 1992-batch Odisha cadre IB officer, as special director of the Intelligence Bureau (IB).

“Sapna Tewari, Additional Director, Intelligence Bureau, has been appointed as Special Director, IB (grade 16 in the pay matrix) on an ‘in place’ basis, temporarily consolidating the post of Additional Director held by the officer Upgraded to a tenure of two years from the date of assumption of responsibility till the date of her pension i.e. April 30, 2026 or till further order, whichever is earlier,” the order read.
