You can now get X Premium, X Premium+ for free, but there's a catch

Elon Musk has announced that X (formerly Twitter) will now offer features of X Premium and X Premium+ (a paid subscription to the microblogging platform) for free to select users on the platform. However, not all X users will qualify, according to details shared by the company’s CEO on Thursday. X’s premium subscription plan reduces the number of ads on the timeline while giving users access to premium features as well as Grok, an artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot created by xAI, the startup founded by Musk.

In a post on In India, X Premium subscription costs Rs. 650 per month (when subscribing from the website), while the annual subscription is priced at Rs. 6,800.

Meanwhile, the platform’s CEO also said that users with more than 5,000 verified subscriber followings will have access to features offered with the X Premium+ subscription, which is currently priced at Rs. 1,300 per month (if you register from web interface) or Rs. 13,600 a year. All four subscription prices are significantly higher when signing up from the Android and iOS apps.
