A small town in Wales was “very excited” as town criers from around the world were about to arrive to take part in an international competition.
Montgomery in Powys will host the annual Town Yellers Association Championship this year.
The event will take place on September 17, pitting the town’s promoters against each other for the silver cup.
Sue Blower is the City of Montgomery’s publicist and is organizing this year’s event.
She told Sky News the best part of the job was “meeting people”.
“It’s really just about showing friendship and community spirit and welcoming people,” she said.
“It’s a great position and that’s why I’m still in it more than two decades later. I was born here so I have a lot of local knowledge and I know everyone.
“I know who lives in every house in town, which is obviously a huge asset.”

About 40 wailers are expected to attend the “colourful” event.
“It’s certainly unique here and people in Montgomery are very excited because I’ve been promoting it since the New Year,” she added.
Ms. Blore said many people commented on how well her name suited the character she played.
“I can guarantee you that a lot of people are commenting on this,” she said.
“The sound is a bit like a foghorn, but it’s amazing that I got this appointment.”

She won the role more than 20 years ago after a chance-knock-style competition in front of about 200 people.
“The funny thing is, I’m related to most of them. So, if I hadn’t been selected for that competition, I would have been pretty pissed off,” Ms. Bloor added.
