Yami Gautam finds pregnancy ’empowering’: ‘Just trying to focus on Kya Khaana Hai…’ | Exclusive

Yami Gautam Dhar and Aditya Dhar first met on the sets of Uri: The Surgical Strike in 2019. The couple has kept their relationship hidden from the public eye, but surprised fans when they posted photos from their intimate wedding on June 4, 2021 and on February 8 of this year, in the upcoming At the trailer launch of the movie “Article 370”, she revealed that she was five and a half months pregnant. She further added that she came to know that she was pregnant while shooting for a film her husband was producing.

In an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha, Yami opened up about her pregnancy and laughed about how she “can’t remember” the various emotional “bubbles” that went through her head. “It felt really good and empowering. Motherhood gives you a different kind of confidence and strength. I’d spent my whole life working and being independent, and all those things were there. But I suddenly felt special. Something about me Something changed, and it’s forever. I feel like I see things differently,” she told us.

Yami said one thing her loved ones always complained about was the lack of sleep she received during her pregnancy. Talking about this, she said: “My mind is constantly racing. People around me say that I should sleep as much as possible now because once the baby is born, I will have no time. But how can I sleep so much What? I can only sleep so much (laughs)!”

Becoming a mother also allowed her to relive her memories and understand the true meaning of being a parent. “All my experiences as a child came alive before me. I realized that nature doesn’t make mistakes, it’s us that falter. It was so beautiful, a life was growing inside me. There was another heartbeat inside me. I had heard of these things but experiencing them was very different,” the Dasvi and Bala actor explained.

While many women find themselves sensitive and visibly emotional during pregnancy, Yami focuses on staying happy and stress-free. “Being overly emotional during pregnancy is real. So, I’m not a fan of suppressing my feelings, but it’s also about controlling them and knowing what’s good for me and my baby. My emotions may always show up on the surface, But is it good for me and my baby? I don’t know. I prefer to be happy, eat well, have my family and people I love and feel comfortable around me,” she commented.

The 35-year-old continued: “If someone makes me feel uncomfortable, I have every right to forgive myself. This is a very special moment and it should be enjoyed in the best possible way. Life is complicated anyway, but Pregnancy is a blissful time and I don’t want to think too much and just focus on mujhe kya khaana hai, kya dekhna hai aur Kisse baat karni hai (smile).”
