JK Rowling reveals she told Alan Rickman secret about Snape in Harry Potter

JK Rowling recently opened up about sharing details of Snape’s character harry potter To the late actor Alan Rickman.

In a new interview with Times of LondonRowling confessed that she told Rickman the secret about the Snape character because he was confused.

“He called me and said, ‘Look, I’m spinning plates here. I really need to understand what Snape is doing? Am I a pure villain?’ He was the only person I said to: ‘You loved Harry’s mother,'” the author revealed.

Rowling noted, “I talked him through it: ‘You’re a double agent. But you dislike Harry. You can’t get past your deep dislike of this guy who looks exactly like your arch enemy. Is.'”

He added, “So, I told Alan Rickman what was coming, long before it was in the movies.”

Rickman, who died in 2016, played Snape in all eight films of the bestselling book series.

Rowling expressed regret over the removal of characters like Snape from her book.

He said, “I don’t like killing off characters, but it’s part of life, isn’t it? Killing off Snape was terrible. I always knew he was going to go.”
