Woman who stole computers from Bengaluru home for years caught with 24 laptops

Bengaluru police have arrested a woman for allegedly stealing laptops from various PG accommodations.

Bengaluru police have arrested a 29-year-old woman from Rajasthan for allegedly stealing laptops from various paid guest rooms in the city since 2022.

Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda said, “The woman named Jassu Agarwal was arrested with 24 laptops worth Rs 10 lakh.”

Sharing details of the theft, the police chief said, “A laptop, charger and mouse were stolen from a rented house under HAL police station and a case was registered at HAL police station in October last year.”

The official further said that the case has been investigated and the accused woman has been arrested and questioned for a long time.

Later, the woman named Jassu Agarwal was arrested with 24 laptops worth Rs 10 lakh. The theft included 3 laptop boxes from 1 HAL station, one from Koramangala and Indiranagar.

According to details, the Rajasthan woman had committed robberies at paying guests (PGs) at software company premises and PG areas such as Tin Factory, Marathahalli, Bellandur, Silkboard Hebbala, Whitefield, Mahadevpur, etc. in the city.

The official said that during investigation, it was found that the accused sold the stolen laptops to laptop shops located in Marathahalli, Yalahanka and Hebbal.

Siva Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Whitefield Division, under the guidance of HAL Police Inspector and others, successfully cracked the case against the accused.
