White House: Islamic State poses no imminent threat to U.S. homeland

The White House said on Monday that the United States does not believe the Islamic State group poses an imminent threat to the U.S. homeland, after jihadists claimed deadly attacks in Russia.

“We do not see an imminent, credible threat from ISIS to the homeland,” National Security Council spokesman John Kirby told reporters, using an abbreviation for the jihadist group.
