According to details shared by the feature tracker, WhatsApp is currently working on a feature that will allow users to edit images using artificial intelligence (AI)-powered editing tools. When the feature rolls out to users in the future, users may be able to quickly modify the background of an image, redesign the image, or “expand” the image using artificial intelligence. Meanwhile, the company is also developing a feature that will allow users to ask questions to the company’s “Meta AI” service directly from the search bar.

According to feature tracker WABetaInfo, which has a strong track record of rolling out new features to the messaging app, the latest WhatsApp Android 2.24.7.13 beta update contains the following code: AI-powered image editor. The feature is still under development and currently cannot be tested by users who have signed up to receive a beta version of the app.
