West Bengal Assembly holds budget session on Monday

West Bengal Parliamentary Affairs Minister Sovandeb Chatterjee said that the budget session of the West Bengal Assembly is scheduled to begin on February 5 and the budget is likely to be presented on February 8. He added that the meeting will last until February 17.

This year’s budget proposals may include new welfare programs aimed at benefiting women and youth, officials said.

It may be recalled that before the last Lok Sabha polls in 2019, the state government presented an interim budget and submitted a full budget after the general elections.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is expected to attend the first meeting on February 5, a senior TMC leader said.
