We finally know when Apple might launch new iPad Air and iPad Pro 2024 models

Apple is set to launch new iPhones and Macs in 2023, but now is the time for the company to refresh its iPad lineup, which includes giving them a major design overhaul. The company is reportedly preparing for a Spring 2024 launch event, where we could see brand new iPad Air and Pro models with Apple’s M3-powered silicon. And now, it has been suggested that the iPad launch event could take place sometime between March and April this year.

Most of us would agree that Apple’s current iPad lineup can be confusing for buyers, not giving them enough reasons to consider upgrading or choosing a budget model.

The company has also seen a decline in demand for the iPad, which is clearly reflected in its recent financial figures for the device. But Apple is set to step up the levels in 2024 and ensure that the iPad has a clear identity, starting from the base iPad all the way to the iPad Pro variants.

The base iPad will continue to cater to those trying out an iPad for the first time, and now, they’ll only have a USB-C option available instead of two different base iPads. Similarly, the iPad Air lineup will feature an M2-powered processor, which means the end of the A14 Bionic model from the market.

Apple is looking to introduce the M2 chipset for the iPad Air, which is likely to be offered in a 10.9-inch and even a 12.9-inch version which would be a first for the Air tablet series. Talking about the iPad Pro, expect Apple to appreciate the inevitable price increase for the lineup with the addition of the M3 chip, OLED display, and changes to its design. Apple has made matters complicated for itself due to the complex list of iPads on the market. We’re hoping the new refresh will streamline the portfolio, making it easier for consumers to choose the right model for their needs.
