Rishi Sunak has apologized for wearing Adidas samba shoes after being accused of “ruining a fashion icon”.

The prime minister wore the white shoes during a recent interview in Downing Street.

His fashion choices were slammed by British magazine GQ, which wrote: “Rishi Sunak ruined everyone’s choices by slipping into a pair of always-cool sneakers in an effort to show off his youthful style.”

“I offer my sincere apologies to the Samba community,” the Prime Minister said in response to the LBC backlash on Wednesday morning (April 10).

“But, in my defence, I have worn Adidas sneakers for many years, including Sambas and other sneakers.”
