The Queen’s “favorite grandson” has suffered fresh heartache after splitting from his long-term girlfriend.
Peter Philips, 46, is no longer in a relationship with Lindsay Wallace, 43, with their relationship reportedly “coming to an end” after three years.
The 18th in line to the throne was previously married to Autumn Kelly, 45, with whom he has two young children: Savannah, 13, and Ai, 12. Isla.
The two split in 2020 and divorced in 2021, which is when his friendship with Lindsay turned romantic.
The couple, described as “rock solid”, were so serious that Philip actually introduced his new partner to the late Queen before her death in 2022.
Who is Peter Phillips?
The 46-year-old royal is the Queen’s eldest grandson and the eldest son of Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips.
Philips, who does not receive funding from the sovereign grant, is a businessman and is currently managing director of SEL UK, a boutique sports management company.
According to reports, his net worth in 2022 is approximately £15.7 million.
His work commitment was reportedly a factor in the breakdown of his recent relationship.
A source told The Sun: “Peter and Lindsay have made the difficult decision to separate as they spend less and less time at work and at home. Peter’s business commitments and job in F1 mean he Always out and traveling non-stop,” the source said.
“It’s obviously shocking because most people think they are absolutely rock solid, which is very sad. Peter has been traveling around the world and is very busy, and Lindsay lives in Scotland, so it’s difficult for them to see each other.”
Despite not being a working royal, he is close to his family and said it “meant a lot” that he was allowed to bring his then partner, Wallace, to the king’s coronation concert last year.
the queen’s favorite grandson
Philips made history when he was born in 1977 when his parents refused to give him an official title, even though he was fifth in line to the throne.
This was done to give Peter and later his sister Zara Philips, now 42, a chance to live a relatively normal life.
At the same time, this also makes him the first royal grandson in more than 500 years to grow up without a title.
But although Philips reportedly didn’t get the title the Queen wanted, it holds a special place in her heart.
A royal insider claims he is her favorite grandchild – “the special one” – and not Prince Harry as is often speculated.
“[The Queen] “The Queen has always had a close relationship with Peter and admires the way he and his sister Zara act as grandsons of the monarch but without titles,” an “old friend” of the Queen said, according to the Daily Mail in 2022.
Like William and Harry and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, Peter and Zara are children of broken homes, but they are somewhat more exposed due to Anne’s decision that they should not have titles. She believes that Peter, in particular, inherited the resilience that was so characteristic of Anne. She thought he was reliable. ”
Relationship breakdown
Sources close to Philips and his ex-partner say there were no third parties involved in their recent split and the pair remain on friendly terms.
They met while studying at the prestigious Gordonstoun School in Moray, Scotland, where tuition fees are £45,000 a year and where King Charles and the late Prince Philip were also educated.
News of Philips and Wallace’s romance first began to circulate in March 2021, but in March this year, he appeared to attend the Bahrain Grand Prix alone.
