On March 29, the Indian Navy took a bold operation in the Arabian Sea and rescued as many as 23 Pakistani citizens from Somali pirates. They expressed their gratitude to India and raised slogans of “India Zindabad”.

A team of experts from the Indian Navy protected them from an attack by nine armed pirates and completed hygiene and seaworthiness inspection of the Al-Kambar fishing vessel.

The Pakistani crew of a rescued Iranian-flagged fishing boat was seen raising slogans of “India Zindabad” in the Arabian Sea after being rescued from pirates.

Based on information about a possible piracy incident on an Iranian fishing vessel on the evening of March 28, two Indian Navy ships deployed for maritime security operations in the Arabian Sea were diverted to intercept the hijacked fishing vessel.

At the time of the incident, the FV was located approximately 90 nautical miles southwest of Socotra and was reportedly boarded by nine armed pirates. The hijacked FV was intercepted on March 29.

The statement said that the Indian Navy remains committed to ensuring maritime security in the region and the safety of seafarers regardless of their nationality.
