India wicket-keeper batsman Dhruv Jurel returns with Indian Premier League (IPL) side looking to replicate his performance with Rajasthan Royals in Test series against England Performance. Jurel has performed well under Rohit Sharma’s leadership and is now eager to prove his worth to Rajasthan skipper Sanju Samson. Ahead of the new season, Jurel spoke highly of Samson’s captaincy and even compared the RR captain to Rohit Sharma.

“It has been three years since I played under Sanju Samson. He is a very calm person. Personality-wise, he is like Rohit Sharma. He often talks about strategy, he gives You feel a sense of security,” Jurel said in the chat news24.

Rohit’s camaraderie with young players like Jurel, Sarfaraz Khan, Yashasvi Jaiswal and others was evident during India’s Test match against England. Jurel explained how Samson also believes in bringing everyone together, whether they are senior or junior members of the team.

“The first year I was on the bench, he didn’t make me feel that way. Samson brought everyone together. Even now, he shares the plan not just off the field but off the field. He shares it. His experience,” he said.

Jurel was also asked about him being dubbed the “next MS Dhoni”. The young wicketkeeper-batsman was understandably flattered by the meeting, saying there was, is and will be only one MS Dhoni.

Yurel recently made his India debut in the five-match Test series against England, where he scored 190 runs in 4 innings in 3 games. With less than a week left for the IPL, Rajasthan will be looking to continue their excellent run after narrowly missing out and losing to the Gujarat Titans in last season’s final.
