It is the most expensive four-wheeler electric vehicle available for private buyers in the country, priced at Rs 7.5 crore (ex-showroom).

Surprisingly, a builder from Chennai purchased this electric sedan just two months before its official release, which makes it even more interesting. Videos and images of the delivery of India’s first Rolls-Royce Specter to the Chennai-based builder in November 2023 were posted online.

The electric sedan was delivered to Bashyam Yuvraj of Chennai-based infrastructure builder Bashyam Construction. The Rolls-Royce Specter was finished in Monteverde Grey, as seen in the delivery video posted by YouTube channel Wheels Hub. Specifically, the modest owner of a construction company arrived with his son wearing casual jeans, T-shirt and slippers to accept the delivery. Many people praised the humility of the Specter owner on social media.

Powering the Specter is a 102kWh battery pack with a 530 km WLTP cycle range. In contrast, the EQS and EQS AMG, each with a 107.4kWh battery, have a single-charge range of 857 km and 580 km respectively. The 195kW charger can charge the Spectre’s battery from 10 to 80 percent in 34 minutes, while a 50kW DC charger can charge it in 95 minutes.

The Spectre’s two electric motors under the hood have a combined output of 585 horsepower and 900 Nm. With these specifications, the 2,890 kg Specter can reach 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds.

The Spectre, first introduced in 2003, is based on Rolls-Royce’s “Architecture of Luxury”, an all-aluminium space frame architecture. Additionally, it has four-wheel steering, active suspension and a thirty percent stiffer design. Compared to earlier models.

The Rolls-Royce silhouette was preserved by the Spectre’s design, which featured a fastback tail, a long bonnet and a sleek profile. The interior of the Specter is as luxurious as any current Rolls-Royce model. Customers can select wood paneling for the doors, and a notable addition is the Starlight liner, which is now integrated into the door pads. The passenger side dashboard has over 5,500 lights that resemble stars.

A notable feature is Rolls-Royce’s new “Spirit” software platform, which acts as a digital interface for connected car technology. Unlike the infotainment software previously sourced from BMW, the Spirit offers a variety of customization options. Users can even change the color of the dial to match the interior.
