Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the statue of Ram Lalla after the consecration ritual in Ayodhya. The event was watched by millions of people on television in their homes and in temples across the country as army helicopters showered flowers at the newly constructed Janmabhoomi temple at the consecration ceremony.

Over 10,000 people including celebrities, Bollywood superstars and business tycoons attended the Pran Pratistha ceremony.

The temple trust that organized the event had invited several opposition leaders, but they have decided to stay away from the grand event. Opposition parties cannot attend the event as they claim that the ruling government has turned this religious event into a political event ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

Here’s what opposition leaders are doing today while the Prime Minister unveils Ram Lalla statues in Ayodhya:

Rahul Gandhi in Assam

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who was in Assam for the Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra, was scheduled to visit Batadrava Thana, the birthplace of 15th century social reformer Srimanta Sankardev. However, he was stopped at Haibargaon on his way to Shankardev’s birthplace where he staged a sit-in along with senior Congress leaders and supporters.

“During the law and order crisis, everyone can visit the birthplace of Vaishnav saint Srimanta Sankardev, only Rahul Gandhi cannot,” the Congress leader said in Nagaon. The managing committee of the Sri Shankardev session had announced that they would not allow the Congress leader to enter the session before 3 pm on January 22, as CM Himanta Biswa Sarma had earlier said that he had asked Gandhi to attend the consecration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. Had requested not to travel before. ,

AICC general secretary Jairam Ramesh said that officials had told Gandhi that there could be law and order problems and when he (Gandhi) offered to go alone, the request was turned down. Ramesh said, ‘It is clear that it is their deliberate policy to stop them from visiting the holy place which holds social, cultural and religious significance for all.’

Mamata Banerjee’s ‘Sarva-Vishvas Rally’

On the day of the consecration ceremony in Ayodhya, Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is holding a parallel rally in Kolkata calling for religious harmony.

Banerjee will first visit the iconic Kalighat temple to offer prayers and then hold a ‘sarva-faith rally’. Meanwhile, the BJP has accused them of trying to divert attention from the Ayodhya event and had even approached the High Court to stop the march, but failed.

Aam Aadmi Party will take out a procession

From shobha yatra to bhandara, recitation of Sundar Kand to aarti, AAP has planned a series of programs across 70 assembly constituencies of Delhi to mark the consecration ceremony of Ram temple in Ayodhya on Monday.

The senior AAP leader said, “All ministers, MLAs, councilors, leaders and workers of the party will participate in bhandars (community kitchens), prasad distribution and processions organized to celebrate the welcome of Lord Ram in all 70 constituencies of Delhi on January 22.” Will participate in the tours.” And MLA Dilip Pandey said.

Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday attended the three-day Ramlila program organized by the Department of Arts, Culture and Languages of the Delhi government. The program, which started on Saturday, will conclude on Monday with the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has urged all ministers, party MLAs, councilors, leaders and workers to participate wherever the Shobha Yatra is taking place, contribute to the Bhandara and serve the people on this glorious occasion.

DMK vs BJP in Tamil Nadu

While the DMK-led government has said it does not agree with the construction of the temple after “demolishing the mosque” in Ayodhya, the BJP has alleged that LED screens were installed at the Kamakshi Amman temple to watch live streaming of the temple inauguration. Were installed. brought down.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman was to watch the live telecast of the Ram temple from Kamakshi Amman temple. But the Tamil Nadu government refused to allow installation of LED screens to watch live telecast of the consecration of Ayodhya Ram temple.

The Supreme Court on Monday issued notice to the Tamil Nadu government and others on a plea filed against the state’s oral order allegedly banning live telecast of “Pran Pratishtha” in temples across Tamil Nadu.

Uddhav Thackeray

Shiv Sena (UBT) president and former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray will visit Kalaram Temple in Nashik on the day of the inauguration. Earlier, an invitation was sent to Thackeray through speed post for the Ram Mandir consecration ceremony to be held in Ayodhya on Monday.

He will offer prayers at the Kalaram temple and perform ‘Maha Aarti’ on the Godavari river banks on Monday. On Tuesday he will participate in the one-day conference of his party in Nashik.
