An argument broke out between the cyclists when they stopped and confronted the passengers

A motorcyclist and an autorickshaw passenger got into an altercation over a cigarette in Bengaluru. X user Sheikh Moin alleged that a car passenger with a cigarette in his hand touched his leg when a three-wheeler passed his two-wheeler in JP Nagar Phase 5. When the cyclist stopped and confronted the passenger, an argument broke out between them.

Meanwhile, the car passenger claimed he had the right to smoke in the rental vehicle and accused the cyclist of attracting attention by filming them. In response, the motorcyclist sarcastically said: “You could be a celebrity (let me photograph you).”

“The passenger in the car was smoking in public and as the driver of the car passed me, his hand reached out of the car and touched my leg. When asked, I was pushed aside and almost I hit the pavement,” Mr Moin wrote on X, sharing two videos of him arguing with passengers.

In the video, the biker also accused the car driver of driving improperly and almost hit his two-wheeler. He also scolded him for allowing passengers to smoke in the car.

The videos also prompted a response from Bengaluru city police. Bengaluru police asked for Mr Moin’s phone number and later said they had informed the officers concerned about the matter.

Meanwhile, the video has divided the internet, with people posting mixed comments. Some say people who smoke in public places should be taught a lesson, but others think cyclists are making a mountain out of a molehill.

One user wrote, “The cyclist should mind his own business… why is he arguing with the passenger.
