According to CBS News, the family, who has chosen to remain anonymous, said the incident occurred during an American Airlines flight from Charlotte to Boston. The family alleges that their 14-year-old daughter attempted to use the restroom during the flight but was redirected to a first-class bathroom by a flight attendant.

In a lawsuit filed by the family, the teenager recounts the scary ordeal which she says seemed odd from the beginning. The girl says that before she entered the bathroom in first class, the flight attendant insisted he go in first. According to the lawsuit, the flight attendant returned from the bathroom and warned the teenager that the toilet seat was broken. The teenager then used the bathroom as normal but noticed an object attached to the lid as she turned to flush the toilet.

An iPhone was attached to the toilet lid by two “remove from service” stickers. The teenager took a photo of the makeshift spying device and then rushed back to her parents. The family confronted the flight attendant, who alerted the Massachusetts State Police. The girl later confirmed to police that the flight attendant’s phone was the one she saw in the bathroom and the investigation was turned over to the FBI. Now, social media is in an uproar, as the case has gone viral on TikTok.

TikTokers are in a tizzy over the flight attendant incident.

The FBI is currently investigating the incident involving an American Airlines flight attendant, and his alleged attempt to record a female passenger who was using the bathroom. American Airlines has agreed to fully cooperate with the efforts of investigators, but the company has not yet revealed the status of the flight attendant’s employment. “We take this matter very seriously. As safety and security are our highest priorities,” the airline said in a statement to Daily Mail.

However, that hasn’t stopped social media from dragging the airline, the flight attendant, and the entire crew on the flight from Charlotte to Boston. Some pointed to the lack of transparency, suggesting that the airline should fire the employee amid the accusations.

Others were quick to point out that the exchange between the flight attendant and the teenage girl was questionable from the beginning. He definitely took advantage of her.

Meanwhile, others suggested that the father of the girl should be commended for not lashing out at the American Airlines flight attendant. Most parents would have a hard time containing their anger in such a situation.

A California man was previously arrested for a similar crime.

Unfortunately, the alleged incident on the American Airlines flight is eerily similar to other creepy encounters. In December 2022, a California man was arrested after his female roommate discovered a recording device in the bathroom, The Sacramento Bee reported. According to police, the camera was disguised inside a USB charger, which was placed near the shower.

The man was arrested a few days later and was charged with invasion of privacy and invasion of privacy using a hidden recording device. In a post made to Facebook, the Sonoma Sheriff’s office revealed that all of the women living inside the shared home had since moved out of the house.

Singapore ride-hailing service suspends Chinese driver for racist comments at passenger

Tada said the driver’s remarks that insinuated racial differences

Singapore:

A Singapore-based Chinese cab driver who allegedly hurled racist comments at a woman and her daughter assuming she was of Indian origin has been suspended by the ride-hailing platform Tada, the company has said.

A spokesperson for the company said the action was taken against the driver following a thorough investigation into the incident, which was recorded on video by the passenger and her young daughter.

Last Saturday, Facebook user Jan Hoeden uploaded two videos that captured an argument between her and the driver, as well as a screenshot of the Tada app that showed the driver’s face and her travel route.

Hoeden, who is 46 years old and of Eurasian origin, said in her post that the argument started when the driver “accused” her of giving him wrong directions. The woman claimed that she did not even advise or say anything to him.

As the conversation got more heated, the driver can be heard telling the passenger that she should not be “hao lian”, or Teochew for boastful.

When Hoeden replied in Mandarin that she was not “hao lian”, the driver began raising his voice and said, “You are Indian, I am Chinese.” He later told Hoeden that she was “the very worst” customer, even as she told him repeatedly that she was not Indian but Eurasian.

In its statement on Tuesday, Tada said the driver’s remarks that insinuated racial differences are “completely unacceptable” with the platform’s community guidelines and ethos.

Among them, one person is seen sleeping in a makeshift hammock made using a bedsheet.

Take a look at this viral video below:

The video was posted last month. Since being shared, the video has gone viral. Till now, it has accumulated close to 9.5 million views. The share has also received tons of likes and comments.

What did Instagram users say about this video?

Singapore Chinese cab driver abuses woman passenger after assuming she is Indian

A Singapore-based Chinese cab driver is currently under investigation for abusing a woman and her daughter during their ride. The man had mistaken her ethnicity and the two engaged in an increasingly heated debate over the destination and route. The commute was booked via ride-hailing platform TATA at around 2 pm on Saturday.

“You are Indian, you are stupid,”46-year-old Janelle Hoeden recalled the driver as saying.

According to reports, the Eurasian-origin passenger had been travelling with her nine-year-old daughter. The ride reportedly stated on a peaceful note before the driver suddenly got upset that part of the road was blocked due to construction of an upcoming metro line.

“He started shouting at me, saying that I gave him the wrong address and wrong directions,” she said.

The interaction got progressively more heated over time and was recorded by Hoeden on her phone. The video – later uploaded to social media and shared widely by others – also showed the Chinese driver accusing her daughter of being less than 1.35 metres tall.

While Hoeden insists that the child was 1.37 metres tall, the driver can be heard calling the girl “very illegal”. The Land Transport Authority (LTA) states on its website that for safety reasons, all vehicles in Singapore must have booster seats or child restraints for passengers under 1.35 metres in height.

The driver was heard shouting at the woman while driving, “You are India(n), I’m Chinese… You are the very worst kind…”

Hoeden corrected him, saying: “I am Singapore Eurasian, not Indian.”

TADA Singapore has since said that it was investigating the incident.

31 injured as passenger train collides with goods train in Pakistan

At least 31 people were injured when a passenger train collided on Sunday with a freight train parked on the main railway line in Pakistan’s Punjab province, according to media report.

The accident took place near the Qila Sattar Shah Station in Sheikhupura district.

The Lahore-bound passenger train coming from Mianwali was travelling on the same track where a freight train was already parked, resulting in the crash, Geo News reported.

The train driver attempted to avoid the crash but to no avail, it said.

According to the rescue personnel, 31 passengers were injured in the accident. Five injured passengers have been transferred to the district headquarters hospital, they added.

The railway officials said an investigation into the crash had been launched.

A railways spokesperson said in a statement that train operations are running smoothly in the Lahore division following the crash.

The track was cleared after the accident, the spokesperson added.

According to the spokesperson, four railways officials including train driver Imran Sarwar and his assistant Muhammad Bilal have been suspended.

An enquiry commission led by a deputy principal officer has been formed, which will submit its report on the incident in 24 hours, the spokesperson added.

The railways chairman said legal action will be taken against those responsible for the incident.

Railways CEO Shahid Aziz said no compromise will be made on the safety of passengers.

Former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif expressed sorrow over the incident and demanded action against those responsible for the crash.

Accidents on Pakistan’s decaying rail system are common. In the past decade, the country has witnessed a number of deadly train accidents.

In August this year, at least 56 people were killed, and a dozen others injured after as many as 10 bogies of Havelian-bound Hazara Express derailed near Sahara Railway Station in Sindh province’s Nawabshah district, 275 kilometres away from Karachi.

The identity of the security officer involved was established and the gathering of evidence was on, it said.

A video, which went viral on social media, showed the security officer stuffing the cash into her mouth and drinking water while using a finger to push the currency bills into her mouth.

It also showed her covering her mouth with a handkerchief.

“Upon receipt of the information about the recent allegations of theft involving a Security Screening Officer at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1, where a cash amounting to 300 US dollars went missing, the Office for Transportation Security (OTS) took actions to validate the information and launch its fact-finding investigation,” OTS said in a statement.

The OTS is working with the Manila International Airport Authority and the Philippine National Police Aviation Security on the case. Administrative actions will be undertaken if the allegations are proven true, it added.

The statement noted the incident did not reflect “the code of conduct for civil servants and much more of the core values” that its members uphold.

The officer allegedly took the money from a visitor’s hand-carried bag.

Authorities in the Philippines are investigating an airport security officer who was caught on video swallowing $300 in bills allegedly stolen from a departing Chinese passenger. The Office for Transportation Security (OTS) posted a statement about the incident on its Facebook page on Tuesday. It said that the identity of the security officer involved has been established and the gathering of evidence is already ongoing.

A video going viral online showed the security officer stuffing the cash into her mouth and then covering it with a handkerchief. It also showed her drinking water while using a finger to push the rest into her mouth.

According to the South China Morning Post, the officer took the money from a visitor’s hand-carried bag when the person was undergoing an X-ray scan. Officials said four screening officers, including the woman, were placed under suspension while the investigation into the case continues. The woman officer, however, has been suspended for now, CNN reported.

In its statement, the OTS emphasised that the incident does not reflect “the code of conduct for civil servants, much more of the core values” that its members uphold. OTS administrator Ma.O Aplasca also said that authorities are pursuing an “administrative case” against the officer and is considering filing a criminal case against her.

Meanwhile, this is not the first time a security officer was caught stealing money from a passenger. As per SCMP, earlier this year, a security personnel at the airport was caught stealing money from a Thai tourist, while another screening officer was arrested for pilfering a Chinese passenger’s watch.

Drunk AirAsia Passenger Arrested After Misbehaving With Crew In Bengaluru

Passenger named Anil Kumar allegedly misbehaved with the flight attendant

A 40-year-old passenger on a Goa-bound AirAsia flight was arrested at Bengaluru airport for harassing a flight attendant. According to police, the incident took place on September 13, minutes before the flight took off for Goa.

The police said that the passenger named Anil Kumar, aged 40 allegedly misbehaved with the flight attendant by holding her hand and claiming to others that she was his close friend. While the other passengers laughed, the attendant was left outraged and embarrassed.

The airline crew escorted Mr Kumar out of the aircraft and handed him over to the police.

The police also said that the accused was drunk and has been charged under IPC Section 354 (assaulting a woman with intent to outrage her modesty).

The man is now out on bail.

Earlier, a passenger on a SpiceJet flight was “offloaded” because of his misbehaviour with one of the female cabin crew members in January this year.

In the video, the flight crew and passengers are seen involved in a verbal fight after a male passenger allegedly behaved inappropriately with a female crew member.

The crew alleged that the passenger had touched one of the crew members inappropriately. On the other hand, fellow passengers claimed that it was an accident due to the confined area on the flight.

The passenger later gave a written apology, but he was offloaded to avoid any further conflicts.

Ryanair criticises Bordeaux Airport after passenger in wheelchair bound for Edinburgh left behind

Ryanair has criticised a French airport after a plane bound for Scotland was forced to U-turn on the runway after it was discovered a passenger in a wheelchair had been left behind.

The budget airline has blamed Bordeaux Airport for the blunder, branding the incident “unacceptable”.

Ryanair said the airport failed to provide the passenger with “the special assistance required” and claimed that crew had been “misinformed” that all passengers had been boarded when that was not the case.

Bordeaux Airport has been contacted for comment.

Flight FR 6700 was due to depart from Bordeaux to Edinburgh at 10pm on Tuesday.

The plane had started to taxi on to the runway for take-off when the error was discovered.

The pilot then returned to pick up the missing passenger.

Ryanair said it was working with the airport to ensure “this does not recur”.

In a statement, the airline said: “It is unacceptable that Bordeaux Airport failed to provide this passenger with the special assistance required to board this flight from Bordeaux to Edinburgh despite Ryanair paying for this service.

“Not only did they fail to board this passenger, but they misinformed the crew on this flight that all passengers had been boarded when in fact this passenger had not, and the aircraft began to taxi on to the runway.

“Ground staff at Bordeaux Airport realised their error and notified the crew who returned to stand in order to board the passenger.

“It is abysmal that Ryanair customers requiring special assistance are being let down by Bordeaux Airport and we are working with them to ensure that this does not recur.”

A passenger on board a Delhi-Chennai IndiGo flight tried to open the emergency door early just before take-off. The incident took place on flight 6E 6341 at the Delhi airport on Tuesday night. The airline acknowledged the incident and said in a statement that safety of its passengers was not compromised during the incident. A few months ago, a similar incident took place on an IndiGo flight from Hyderabad to the national capital. The passenger was handed over to the security personnel after landing at the Delhi airport.

In the latest case too, the “unruly passenger” was handed over to the local authorities.

“A passenger traveling on flight 6E 6341 from Delhi to Chennai tried to open the emergency exit door cover prior to take-off. As per the Standard Operating Procedure, the passenger was declared unruly by the crew and handed over to the local authorities on arrival. At no point was the safety of the flight compromised. We regret any inconvenience caused to the other passengers,” IndiGo said in the statement.

An investigation has been launched into the incident.

In April, a 40-year-old drunk passenger booked for allegedly trying to open the emergency door flap of the Delhi-Bengaluru IndiGo flight.

According to the airline, the incident took place in flight number 6E 308 from IGI Airport.

The passenger was handed over to CISF upon arrival in Bengaluru.

Flight attendant takes revenge on passenger pretending to be vegetarian

A flight attendant took to Reddit to share how a passenger onboard pretended to be a vegetarian and asked for a free upgrade on the meal. However, what the flight attendant eventually did after realising that the passenger is, in fact, a non-vegetarian has left people chuckling. Several commented on the post that the attendant was not in the wrong, and he did whatever he could do the best.

The attendant, who goes by the name of Troikos on Reddit, shared that while serving food, one of the passengers asked for pasta, but since they had run out of that meal, they offered him a plate of chicken. To this, the passenger simply said that he is a vegetarian, and when this happened last time to him, the flight attendant gave him a meal from business class, so he would wait for that.” (Also Read: 13-hour flight, a farting dog, and a couple’s nightmare with Singapore Airlines)

The way he just expected it right off the bat before I could even offer a solution left a slightly bad taste in my mouth. I was 99% sure, that I had cleared in an empty packet of smokey bacon crisps from him earlier on, and no, they weren’t a veggie brand, as I have the same ones occasionally. I was certain that he was being picky and wanted a higher quality meal,” wrote the flight attendant.

Troikos further shared, “I went up to Business Class. They had also run out of the veggie option. So I went up to the first class and asked if they could spare anything. We ended up putting a few leaves together with a bit of dressing. I brought it back down on a silver tray and held it above his eyeline so he couldn’t see what it was. I explained that unfortunately, the vegetarian business class option had run out, then he went to cut me off so he could complain, but I held up my hand and said, ‘However, I managed to go one step further, and I got the last vegetarian meal from first class.” (Also Read: Pilot son’s heartwarming announcement for flight attendant mom)

But when the passenger saw the meal he was offered, he asked the flight attendant to bring him the chicken plate only.

Take a look at the post shared by the flight attendant here:

This post was shared on September 9. Since being posted, it has been liked more than 7,000 times. The share has also received several comments.

Here’s what people are saying about this post:

An individual wrote, “I love it! I am vegetarian, and I always preorder. And even with preordering, some flights run out of vegetarian options. Sigh. I’ve never been offered anything more than a bag of chips as a ‘sorry’ for that. You are a great cabin crew member for doing that for the vegetarians! And I loved this malicious compliance!”

A second shared, “I’m vegan. I always preorder, and I still always bring extra food in my carry-on for how often my meal is forgotten or given away. I really appreciate this person for making the extra effort in those cases.”

“I purchase tasty meals at the airport. The in-flight food has been lame at best. I also bring an empty thermal bottle, and get tea in the terminal. I get food I like, and it contains what I want. No problem,” posted a third.

A fourth said, “I am a vegetarian and tend to pack food in fear they’ll run out. My last airline wanted $18 to order a vegetarian meal before flying, which is just so not cool, luckily both flights it was the less wanted option so they had something warm for me as well.”
