Wanted man responds to his own police poster after police ‘shamed’ his receding hairline

A cheeky fugitive has cheekily taunted police by saying “don’t mention those hairline guys” after a wanted poster mentioned his “receding” hairline.

Avon and Somerset Police wish to speak to Daniel Kellaway on suspicion of driving offences, criminal damage and threatening behaviour.

Police appealed for information on Facebook on Monday, citing the wanted man’s “retreating” brown hair.

A man who gave his name only as Mr Kellaway appeared unfazed by the prospect of being arrested, responding to police with light-hearted quips.

“Forget about the hairline guys, I’m off to Turkey to sort things out and then we’ll catch up,” he wrote under the post.

Mr Kellaway made another comment the next day, asking police to change his age from 28 to 29 in the appeal because it was his birthday.

His jibe went viral, with people on Facebook laughing from ear to ear, with one saying: “I haven’t laughed so hard in a long time!”

In the wanted notice, Avon and Somerset Police describe Mr Kellaway as white, about 5ft 9ins tall and of medium build.

Police said he had links to Henstridge, Glastonbury, Port Milbourne, Templecombe, Wincanton and North Dorset.

Anyone with information about Mr Kellaway is asked to contact Avon and Somerset Police quoting reference number 5224065547.

The public has been warned not to approach him.

Retired detective Mick Neville warned Mr Kellaway he might not be able to smile for long as police chased him.

“I have no doubt police will be searching the area for him. But Kellaway won’t laugh for long at this breach of the law – the net will be closed.”
