Want to watch Virat Kohli play in IPL? It may cost Rs 53,000.Report reveals why | Cricket News

Four weeks into the Indian Premier League (IPL), several records have been broken. Over 500 six-ball scores were scored and the top three totals in IPL history were also posted. There is another area where some crazy numbers have emerged and that is the IPL 2024 ticket pricing. According to a report in The Indian Express, IPL ticket prices may range from Rs 499 to Rs 52,938, depending on the seats, team, time and place of purchase.

According to reports, the cheapest tickets are early bird tickets for teams like Lucknow Supergiants. However, the best seat ticket prices for Royal Challengers Bangalore’s IPL 2024 first home match will go up to Rs 52,938 if booked at the last minute.

BCCI leaves it up to the franchisees to decide on ticket prices and there is a huge demand for tickets.

However, not all ticket prices are that high. This usually depends on the venue and the franchise. For example, RCB has a loyal fan base and hence they see a huge demand for tickets for their home matches. As game day approaches, prices for expensive seats can skyrocket.

According to the Indian Express, the price of tickets for the fan stands for the first match has increased from 4,840 rupees to 6,292 rupees. Corporate booth ticket prices have increased from Rs 42,350 to Rs 52,938.

Franchises have justified the ticket prices. “When tickets are sold on the black market at high prices – which is of no use to us – we have to adjust accordingly. So after the stadium facilities were upgraded, the prices were also adjusted according to market demand. In addition, we Paying 58% tax (28% GST and 25% entertainment charges) on every ticket, so the return for us is minimal,” said Kas Viswana, CEO of Chennai Super Kings. Kasi Viswanathan said in the report.
