Selection of the Indian cricket team for the T20 World Cup will not be an easy matter at all for the BCCI and the Indian team management. According to a report by Cricbuzz, the responsibility of taking decisions on two key points rests with Indian captain Rohit Sharma. They are considering whether to include a fourth specialist fast bowler with Hardik Pandya already in the squad and whether to consider Shubman Gill.

The report also claims that Hardik Pandya may not be the automatic choice for vice-captaincy. The report adds that Rishabh Pant, who has made a remarkable recovery from injury and is playing brilliant cricket for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2024, is also in contention.
