It is confirmed to come with 8GB RAM and 256GB inbuilt storage, but the company has not revealed whether the phone will be available in any other RAM and storage configurations. The phone is said to offer more than 16 hours of YouTube streaming time on a single charge.

The phone also comes with 256GB UFS 2.2 onboard storage, which is expandable by another 1TB via microSD card. The phone runs on FuntouchOS 14 based on Android 14.

In terms of optics, the triple rear cameras of the Vivo V40 SE 5G include a 50-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel sensor paired with an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel macro shooter with an LED flash unit. The front-facing camera is housed in a center-punch notch at the top of the screen and houses a 16-megapixel sensor.

The Vivo V40 SE 5G is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery and supports 44W wired fast charging, which is said to charge the phone from zero to 50% in 25 minutes. The phone has an IP54 dust and splash resistance rating. It comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor for security. The phone offers 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C connectivity.

The dimensions of the Vivo V40 SE 5G crystal black version are 163.17mm x 75.81mm x 7.79mm, and the weight is 185.5g. On the other hand, the leather purple version is slightly thicker at 7.99mm and weighs 191 grams.
