Kolkata Knight Riders will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Eden Gardens on Sunday in Match 36 of the Indian Premier League 2024. This will be a daytime match where both sides will be pitted against each other. The RCB team has arrived in Kolkata and started preparations, and the home team is also ready to play. Ahead of this heated clash, a video of Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir went viral on social media, in which the duo could be seen having a lively chat at the Eden Gardens during training.

Last year, the relationship between Kohli and Gambhir soured after they got into a verbal altercation at the end of RCB’s IPL 2023 match against Lucknow Supergiants. Gambhir was the mentor of the then Lucknow team. Gambhir ended up not getting on well with Kohli as he got into an argument with LSG pacer Naveen-ul-Haq.

However, both of them persevered the following season. Gambhir, now KKR’s mentor, was seen stepping up to hug Kohli during the first leg of RCB’s match against KKR at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on March 29. Photos and videos of the hug went viral on social media.

Earlier, Kohli also hugged Afghanistan pacer Naveen during the 2023 ODI World Cup match, which took place after the two players played in the 2023 IPL. Virat Kohli later revealed how people reacted to his hug.

“People were disappointed with my behavior. I hugged Naveen. Then one day Gowti Bhai came and hugged me. You are doing ‘woo woo’ because your masala has passed,” said Virat Kohli was speaking at an event where people started shouting at the former Indian cricket team captain for mentioning Gautam Gambhir’s name while answering a question.
