US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden on Monday (local time) extended Holi wishes to people in India and around the world celebrating the festival of colours.

Joe Biden tweeted: “Today, millions of people around the world will celebrate Holi, the coming of spring, with gurals (colored powders) and bright colors. Jill and I wish all of you celebrating People are happy and happy today at the Festival of Colors.” X.

Earlier, US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti released a video explaining his excitement about celebrating the first Holi festival in India.

“Happy Holi, friends! Celebrating my first Holi in India with delicious gujiyas made from American nuts, a delightful fusion of tradition and a celebration of US-India friendship! I’m in Los Angeles There have been vibrant Holi celebrations but nothing beats coming to India for the festival of colours,” he tweeted on Monday.

Holi is celebrated with great enthusiasm across India and by Indian communities living in different countries. This festival marks the arrival of spring after a long winter.

People throw and smear colored powder and water on each other, sing and dance to traditional music, and enjoy sweets such as gujiya and drinks such as dandai.
