After a parent-teacher conference at a U.S. school, officials arrested a parent who allegedly went to the cafeteria to have lunch with his son.according to new york post, The incident occurred Wednesday in a California area school district. The unidentified parents were at the school for a parent-teacher conference when they entered the school cafeteria and attempted to have lunch with their son. California Regional School District Superintendent Laura Jacobs said the parent “blatantly ignored all instructions in the parent-teacher conference room” and was ultimately arrested.

“The parent blatantly ignored all instructions in the parent-teacher conference room and decided to walk to the cafeteria to ‘have lunch’ with her son,” Laura Jacobs said in a statement shared on Facebook. “Further instructions from the principal and school police The officer was questioned and the parent was escorted out of the building, handcuffed and arrested with additional police support.”

The parent was charged and a no-trespassing order will be issued on behalf of the school district, according to the statement. The district did not disclose what crime the parent was charged with.

Ms Jacobs called the incident a “breach of safety” and said legal action would be taken against anyone who failed to comply with the protocol. “If a parent or any other individual ignores these rules and enters the building unsupervised, it would be a violation of school security, resulting in arrest and legal action under trespass laws and school security policies,” the superintendent said.

Meanwhile, in the comments section of the Facebook post, netizens called the arrest “ridiculous.” “My son went there. Yes, this is ridiculous! It was a parent not a stranger! I couldn’t believe what I heard when the school called. Totally unnecessary and false,” one user wrote.

Another said: “This principal needs to be fired. In fact, a parent was arrested for trying to have lunch with his kids. These government employees are out of control.”

“My sister is in high school and has never had this happen!!! This is ridiculous,” said a third user. “It’s one thing to tell parents ‘hey if you want to have lunch with your son, next time make sure you tell us ahead of time’. But to jump to having them arrested and trespassing is crazy,” said a fourth . “This school I go to is crazy,” a fifth user added.
