Anantnag (Jammu and Kashmir):
Two people were arrested and pistols, grenades, improvised explosive devices and other similar war paraphernalia were seized during a joint search operation launched by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir police, military officials said.
The operation, named Lukhbhawan, was carried out on the night of Saturday and Sunday in Larkipora area of Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, they added.
“OP LUKHBHAWAN, #Anantnag Based on specific information from intelligence agencies, #IndianArmy and @JmuKmrPolice launched a joint search operation in Lukhbhawan, Larkipora, Anantnag areas on the night of March 23-24,” India Chinar Regiment Army on ‘X’ said in the post.
They added: “Following the discovery of 01x pistols, 01x grenades, 01x IEDs and other similar war items, two suspects have been arrested. Further interrogation is ongoing.”
Earlier on Saturday, Jammu and Kashmir Police neutralized a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorist module in a joint operation with security forces.
Police said four terrorist associates were arrested during the operation and a large number of weapons were recovered from their possession.
