The Ram temple in Ayodhya during the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum has created a stir in this Swiss ski resort town, with devotees planning to organize Ram bhajans and light lamps on the consecration day this coming Monday.

Additionally, several global business leaders are inquiring with the Indian delegation about the business and infrastructure opportunities arising from developing Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh as a major religious and tourism hub, including those from the government and private sector. Are included.

Speaking to PTI on the sidelines of the WEF Annual Meeting 2024, Union Minister Smriti Irani said she met a group of devotees who asked her if they could also celebrate the Ram temple consecration ceremony on January 24.

“Some Ram devotees here asked me to record a message to the community here to perform Ram bhajan and light lamps here on January 22.

“They came to the lounge and saw me here, walked over and made a request,” said Irani, who is leading a strong Indian delegation at the WEF.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several leaders are scheduled to attend the ceremony in Ayodhya on January 22, which is likely to be attended by more than 8,000 people.

Apart from this, the Prime Minister has urged people across the country to celebrate this day like Diwali at their respective places.

Apart from the temple, an international airport has also been set up in Ayodhya, while a large number of infrastructure projects are being built there to develop the city as a major religious tourism centre.

“I think as a community we have shown… I always say in Hindi that ‘dharma ke liye dhairi show dikhaye’ (show patience when it comes to religion), and the fact is that we have been patient and Awaiting the judicial decision. Our trust and rights, which speaks volumes about the strength of our democracy and the Prime Minister of India,” Irani said.

“Respecting every religion, we waited for a long time for God to come home,” said Irani, the minister of women and child development as well as minority affairs.

“This is a cause for celebration and happiness, so my gratitude to everyone who has shown patience and I look forward to going back home, to (my Lok Sabha constituency) Amethi, on January 22 and celebrating with them,” Irani said.

Among other states, Uttar Pradesh has also set up a pavilion here for the WEF annual meeting and visitors including businessmen from across the world have been inquiring about the temple and other Ayodhya projects.

Several global leaders said they are interested in learning about these projects, apart from other business opportunities in India.
