Fragrant flowers brought from Chennai will be used to decorate the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram temple in Ayodhya on Sunday night, an official said.
Sanjay Dhavalikar, head of the floral decoration team, also said that more than 3,000 kg of flowers of more than 20 varieties have been used to decorate the grand structure ahead of the consecration ceremony on January 22.
The ‘Pran Pratistha’ at the Ram temple will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several other dignitaries.
More than 7,000 guests will attend the mega event in the temple city, which has been decorated to enhance the aura of the holy city and many buildings have been decorated with lights.
“About 85-90 percent of the decoration work of the temple complex has been completed. More than 3,000 kg of different varieties of flowers brought from different parts of India have been used for this,” Dhavalikar said.
