Taylor Swift's father accused of attacking photographer in Australia

Sydney:

Australian police say they are investigating a 71-year-old man suspected of attacking a photographer in Sydney early on Tuesday. The accuser said the man was Taylor Swift’s father.

Police spokesperson Alicia McCumstie told AFP: “Police were informed that a 71-year-old man was allegedly at Neutral at around 2:30am (1530GMT on Monday). Bay Wharf assaulted a 51-year-old man before leaving the location.”

“The young man reported the incident and officers from North Shore Police Area Command are currently investigating.”

Alleged victim Ben McDonald told AFP the man was Swift’s father, Scott Swift.

Macdonald said he photographed the American pop icon on a “superyacht” in Sydney Harbor after she played the last of four shows in Sydney.

Macdonald claims Taylor Swift’s security guard placed an umbrella in his face to prevent him from taking photos of Taylor Swift as she walked along the pier to a waiting car vehicle.

After Swift left, MacDonald claimed a man confronted him and “he hit me in the chops.”

“I don’t know who he is, but I look at the picture and I see him and Taylor holding hands, and that’s her dad.”

“It’s shocking. I’ve never had anything like this in 26 years,” he said.

Australian police generally do not release the identities of people accused or accused of crimes.

Taylor Swift is currently on her global blockbuster Eras Tour.

She will head to Singapore this week for the next leg of her music tour, which is expected to become the highest-grossing music tour of all time, with revenue exceeding $1 billion, according to Pollstar.
