Sydney Sweeney reveals why talking about ‘euphoria’ is ‘scary’

When Sydney Sweeney was asked about the upcoming third season, she had to mince words. Euphoria.

The actress and producer sat down with Happy Sad Confused podcast host Josh Horowitz at the 92nd Street Y in New York City on Wednesday to discuss euphoria, and other projects, including her new film, Immaculate.

Sweeney, who plays Cassie Howard on the HBO Max series, was asked to provide an update on the show’s status.

“Honestly, it’s as scary as talking about Marvel,” Sweeney joked. “I say something and it spreads everywhere.”

Marvel Studios is famous for keeping film and screening details secret, giving actors very specific instructions on what they can and can’t talk about.

Sweeney revealed to Horowitz in a separate conversation that she didn’t take much time off from completing multiple projects and jumped straight into filming Euphoria.

She didn’t reveal the exact date, and when asked if she had read the script, she responded shyly. “Maybe. I don’t know,” the actress quipped.

During Wednesday’s conversation, she also shared what the character of Cassie means to her.

“It was truly a dream of mine to play Cassie, and I’m so lucky as an actor to have a character like her at such a young age,” she explained. “Of course, I want her to continue to be crazy. I love it.”
