New Delhi:
Kunal Bahl, co-founder of Snapdeal and early-stage venture capital firm Titan Capital, on Friday revealed that he used to take protein supplements, which gave him serious health issues.
Mr Barr responded to the new study in a post on the X social media platform, saying he had been advised to take protein supplements several years ago.
“I tried a very well-known domestic brand and thought it was safe,” said the Snapdeal co-founder.
Within six or eight weeks, it caused me “serious health problems.”
“Thankfully the health reversed once I stopped. Please be very careful,” he posted on X.

Protein powders, including those containing herbs and dietary supplements such as vitamins, minerals and other natural or synthetic ingredients, may be linked to liver toxicity, according to a new study published in the journal Medicine.
“Protein supplements are often misbranded and their contents deceptive. In this self-funded and transparent study, we extensively analyzed popular protein supplements in India to identify potential hepatotoxic substances based on industry standards,” study results wrote.
Studies have found that many leading formulas contain harmful heavy metals such as lead and arsenic, as well as some herbal extracts that are hepatotoxic.
